Scores of people have been killed in new Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza Strip (see video above). The Palestinian Health Authority said Thursday that at least five residential buildings where many people lived were affected.
Many people are still buried under the rubble. Hamas said 66 people were killed, most of whom had not yet been recovered. The Israeli military initially did not comment on this, but since early October has expanded its operations in the northern area around the city of Beit Lahiya and the nearby towns of Jabalia and Beit Hanoun. According to her own statement, this is intended to prevent Hamas fighters from regrouping.
Seriously injured people cannot be treated
At least 200 people lived in the bombed neighborhood, says the director of the Kamal Adwan Hospital. Paramedics treated the injured at the scene as no ambulances were available to transport them to hospitals.
