“Oreshnik” – Putin: Moscow fired a new medium-range missile

Date:

Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin has proudly announced that the Russian military has fired one of the latest medium-range missiles, called Oreshnik, in response to recent Ukrainian long-range attacks with Western weapons.

A military-industrial facility in the Dnepr was targeted, Putin said in a televised address on Thursday. The Ukrainian Air Force had earlier reported that Russia had fired an intercontinental ballistic missile for the first time this morning.

Ukrainian forces attacked targets in Russia’s Bryansk Oblast with six ATACMS missiles on Tuesday and Kursk Oblast on Thursday with Storm Shadow missiles, the Russian president said. People were killed and injured in Kursk.

The alleged attack with “Oreshnik”:

For the Kremlin leader, however, the conflict has reached a whole new level with the recent attacks. He was convinced that without specialists from the countries where these long-range weapons are manufactured, their use would be impossible.
