The trial of Jason Thornburg (44) reveals gruesome details about the 44-year-old’s horrific actions.
Firefighters discovered the remains of three bodies in a garbage bin in September 2021. Investigation revealed that they were David Lueras (42), Lauren Phillips (34) and Maricruz Mathis (33). They were murdered, dismembered and stored in plastic bags in a garbage bin.
The path soon led to Jason Thornburg. He rented a room at the Mid City Inn in Euless, Texas, and committed the murders there. The 44-year-old also admitted to eating the hearts of his victims.
Killed his own girlfriend
Police also determined that Thornburg is responsible for two other murders: of his girlfriend Tanya Begay in Arizona in 2017 and of his former roommate Mark Jewell in May 2021.
“Human Sacrifice for God”
When asked why the 44-year-old committed such terrible acts, he replied: “They are all human sacrifices for God.” A doctor diagnosed a mental illness.
If you are convicted of murder, there are two possible sentences: life in prison without parole or the death penalty.
