A traffic accident in Micheldorf (Upper Austria) ended particularly tragically late on Monday evening. A 49-year-old from Kirchdorf crashed his car head-on into an oncoming truck. The motorist had no chance: he died at the scene of the accident. Investigations are underway.
On November 25, 2024, around 9:10 p.m., a 49-year-old from the Kirchdorf district drove his car along the B 138 from Kirchdorf towards Kienberg. In the municipality of Micheldorf, a head-on collision occurred for unknown reasons in heavy traffic with an oncoming truck driven by a 46-year-old Croat.
Drivers don’t stand a chance
The 49-year-old suffered serious injuries, was trapped in the accident and had to be extricated from his vehicle by firefighters. Tragically, despite the best efforts of the emergency physician, the 49-year-old died at the scene of the accident from his serious injuries.
Truck driver also injured
The Croatian truck driver was also injured in the collision and was taken to the Pyhrn Eisenwurzen Klinikum Kirchdorf. The road was closed for approximately three hours due to the cleaning work. The construction-related closure of the A9 Pyhrnautobahn was lifted during this time.
