The president of the Basque PP, Javier de Andrés, is convinced that the intention of the PNV and the PSE-EE is to reach an agreement with EH Bildu.
The President of the Basque PP, Javier de Andréshas announced that his party is abandoning budget negotiations and that he will table an amendment to the entire draft budget of the Basque government for 2025. Moreover, he is convinced that the intention of the PNV and the PSE-EE is to reach an agreement with EH Bildu .
At a press conference in Bilbao, the leader of the Basque People’s Party assured that his proposal last Monday during the meeting with the Minister of Finance and Finance, Noël d’Anjou, did not achieve what the PP claimed.
As he explained, his party’s intention was that the increase in safety and health posts would amount to 4.7% – the same figure as the increase in total bills compared to 2024 – something that the Basque government has not accepted .
For this reason, the popular parties will change the entire budget project. Furthermore, De Andrés has warned that “they are not reflected” in the accounts and that “what PNV and PSE-EE may want” is to reach an agreement with EH Bildu.
The two parties that make up the Basque government – PNV and PSE/EE – have sufficient majorities in the Basque parliament to implement the 2025 budget project, although they have chosen to gain the support of opposition parties. For the time being, both the PP and Sumar have left the negotiations, which would henceforth only be continued with EH Bildu.
