An alcohol driver caused a rear-end collision on the Wiener Ring on Friday morning and tried to flee. A total of five people were injured.
The driver collided with the car of a 23-year-old driver when he had to stop for a red light on the Burgring in Vienna’s inner city. According to witnesses, there was a driver change in the accident car before the police arrived. When officers arrived, the driver simply drove off and fled.
Driver refused alcohol test
However, the car was sold a little later at Dr. Karl Racer Ring stopped. The 39-year-old driver refused an alcohol test. A 33-year-old passenger, who according to witnesses originally drove the accident car, consented to the alcohol test. Result: 2.32 per mille.
Both were shown. In the accident, a third occupant of the accident car (aged 35) and the 23-year-old driver and his three passengers (aged 23, 27 and 27) suffered minor injuries.
