Unknowns struck in Hornstein on Wednesday evening. It was only at the beginning of November that a primary school in Kleinhöflein was broken into.
The perpetrators broke open a side door of the building on Wednesday evening and then searched all rooms. Mayor Christoph Wolf suspects that the burglars were clearly looking for something specific.
Damage of 15,000 euros
He estimates that the total damage amounts to 10,000 to 15,000 euros. Laptops, phones and some cash were stolen. He does not understand why the school was chosen as a target: “There are almost no valuables there.”
Classes were cancelled
The burglary was discovered by healthcare on Wednesday morning. The lessons were then cancelled, most parents picked up the children again, the remaining students were taken care of in the forest ranger’s house. “Despite the exceptional situation, communication and organization worked extremely well – praise for everyone involved,” said Wolf. Regular classes will resume on Thursday.
It was not until early November that the primary school and coffee house in Kleinhöflein were targeted by burglars.
