A 62-year-old died in an accident on the Pyhrnautobahn (A9) in Styria on Wednesday afternoon.
According to the police, the Croat from the Leoben district may have lost control of his minivan due to a medical emergency shortly after 4 p.m. and crashed into a truck driving in front of him.
His vehicle then struck the concrete barrier of the center guardrail, rolled and struck the truck, which was already stationary.
A9 closed towards Linz
The driver and other road users provided first aid, after which the Red Cross provided first aid. The man was then taken to UKH Styria in Kalwang, where he died shortly afterwards. The accident vehicle was towed away and the A9 towards Linz was closed until 5:45 p.m.
