With a new government, negotiations about power and influence now begin

Date:

On Wednesday, FPÖ leader Kunasek invited people to the Graz Landhaus for exploratory talks. Government negotiations could soon take place involving a redistribution of departments. With a change of coalition, the shuffling of the big armchairs begins – in government offices, in supervisory boards or on the board of the ORF foundation.

Day one of the exploratory talks to which Mario Kunasek had invited people to his office in the country house in Graz. ÖVP leader Christopher Drexler started second in the state elections. After the appointment, the state governor said in response to a request from “Krone”: “It was a good, constructive conversation based on mutual appreciation.” Then it was the turn of SPÖ leader Anton Lang – here too the chemistry between the two was on the right. The PVV had already announced in advance that it would only take a position again after the exploratory talks had been completed.

As the discussions continued, Kunasek asked Sandra Krautwaschl (Greens), Niko Swatek (Neos) and Claudia Klimt-Weithaler (KPÖ) to come to him. The announcement of a partner for government negotiations could happen soon, as the FPÖ has imposed a tight schedule on itself. This week, or early next week at the latest, the secret of whether the Blacks or the Reds will be chosen as coalition partners will be revealed. The division of the departments will be exciting; the FPÖ will attach particular importance to some issues.
