Shocking video – The dirty kennels of Brigitta M.

Date:

The animal suffering caused by the involvement of alleged puppy trafficker Brigitta M. is immeasurable. While Ms M. has been released after less than 48 hours in custody, another property in Hungary has been evacuated. The animal corner “Krone” was there when 31 dogs were rescued from the harshest conditions.

When animal rights activists learned of Brigitta M.’s release during a raid in Csögle, Hungary on Monday, the crowd was outraged. This news hits those involved straight to the heart. They have been in constant use for many days and were currently busy rescuing totally neglected dogs from another of Mrs M’s gardens.

“It must feel like a slap in the face for everyone who currently works here,” says Maggie Entenfellner, boss of Krone Tierecke, shocked by the current development. She traveled to Hungary with her team to get a personal view of the situation.

“We discovered at very short notice that there was another building in Mrs. M.’s name. The operation is supervised by the police and a veterinarian, and about twenty animal rights activists are once again preparing for the worst,” Entenfellner said.

Couple from Germany
On site, the R couple, from Germany, pose as the tenant of the building. They know Brigitta M. very well, they help each other, and they rented this house from her ‘among friends’, says Mrs. R. Within the hidden courtyard you can already hear angry barking because the four-legged friends are causing the commotion.

Mrs. R. grants the “Krone” access to the building and their fears come true. Another 31 dogs are being held here in catastrophic conditions. They are in poor medical condition and their physical appearance is worrying.

Maggie Entenfellner asks the R. couple about her friend Brigitta and wants to know how everything is connected. Without further ado, Mrs. R. takes out her cell phone and calls her friend to tell her about the ongoing police operation. At that time it was not yet clear to the public that Mrs. M. was free again.

Brigitta M. is on the phone.
In the short telephone conversation, Mrs. R. tells her friend that a police operation is underway and she wants to know whether she can now be provided with a lawyer. But Brigitta M. soon realizes that this conversation is being monitored and immediately blocks it: “She knows nothing about it.” She quickly pulls up other names of breeders who have something to do with it – probably as a diversionary tactic.

Acceptance at the Messie Court
In the meantime, the Hungarian official veterinarian decides to immediately remove all the animals, because they cannot be kept under these conditions. Little by little, the kennels are carefully emptied and the frightened four-legged friends are brought outside. They are distributed to various animal shelters by dedicated animal rights activists. We will report soon what happens to them.

Only a few hours in jail
But how is it possible that someone is released so quickly after an EU-wide arrest warrant has been issued? The “Krone” asks the responsible regional criminal court in Graz.

The suspect was released and no conditions were imposed: she can move freely, even outside Austria. The Public Prosecution Service has not yet appealed against this decision.

Lack of verifiability
“According to the content of the decision, there is currently no urgent suspicion of a crime that is sufficient for pre-trial detention. The evidence available to the Hungarian law enforcement authorities, which at best provides information about specific acts and periods of crime, has not yet been obtained,” replies Barbara Schwarz from the media office of the regional court.

Furthermore: “The assumption that there is a risk of committing a crime currently fails given the lack of evidence of specific criminal behavior by the suspect.”

The Brigitta M. case clearly shows that in our constitutional state it is possible for deliberate and – probably – criminal activities to go unpunished. Countless dogs in the future will remain in horrible cages and bred by their unscrupulous “breeders”. Hundreds of buyers will still be duped and pay millions of untaxed euros to the ‘puppy mafia’.

Justice looks away
Apparently these animals cannot expect any help from our legal system so far, the masterminds behind them can continue without any worries. It is still up to animal welfare organizations to draw attention to the hidden suffering behind the sweet puppy eyes and warn against these thoughtless purchases.
