Persecution in Tyrol – Alcoholic driver rams into police car and hits e-biker

Date:

A wild chase with the police was delivered on Saturday evening by a 31-year-old driver in the Tyrolean Unterland. After the alleged speed demon was targeted by a patrol, he continued to accelerate until he braked suddenly near an intersection. But the driver, who was also drunk, apparently only wanted to give the impression that he was “surrendering” – and then there was a bang!

Shortly before 8 p.m., the dark car on B171 Tiroler Straße in Brixlegg near a railway underpass became the target of the patrol. The driver, who was initially unknown, was driving at a much too high speed. The police immediately gave chase.

Until planter it cracked
“Finally, at an intersection, the driver braked so that it looked like he was going to stop. Suddenly and without any indication, the driver then jerked the car to the left. There was a side impact with the police vehicle,” investigators said.

E-Biker (69) fell
But that’s not all: the – as it turned out – 31-year-old local then lost control, crashed into a stone wall and also hit an e-biker (69). The cyclist fell, but luckily was not injured.

Drunk and no driver’s license
Ultimately, the suspect was overpowered. A breath analysis test performed on him was positive. Moreover, the locals do not even have a driver’s license. The police officer in the passenger seat of the patrol car was injured in the collision and was taken to Kufstein district hospital. The accident caused significant damage to both vehicles.
