In Wels and Linz the police recently succeeded in carrying out an attack on girl traffickers. A Hungarian quartet is said to have drugged the women and forced them into prostitution throughout Austria, but especially in Linz and Wels. And yet: most things of pleasure are allowed.
Their addiction made a dozen Hungarian women between the ages of 18 and 30 obedient; they did not have to be beaten or locked up. “The supply of drugs was enough to hold them,” said a human trafficking investigator from the Upper Austrian Criminal Police. Researchers had observed the Hungarians who ‘offered’ the women, some of whom had been kidnapped, in Linz and Wels for six months, but then they struck. Two ladies and a nanny were arrested and three people behind the scheme were arrested in Hungary.
