At the Danube Island Festival – Sexual Harassment: Drone Reveals Suspects

Date:

The zealous EGS police unit was also in action at the Danube Island Festival in Vienna. Using a police drone, the officers managed to track down two Syrians (27, 34) from the air. The duo, who allegedly sexually harassed women, have withdrawn.

Events on the Danube Island itself have so far been largely peaceful. There were hardly any incidents, the Vienna police reported on Sunday afternoon. The two suspects, who allegedly harassed women, have not confessed. They were generally reported.

“Effective, successful and sustainable”
But it’s not just grabs that are in the crosshairs of the Street Crime Task Force. The EGS unit is celebrating its 20th anniversary today and the balance of the four task forces with 20 civilian officers each is more than impressive: 25,000 arrests and more than half a ton of hard drugs such as cocaine and heroin worth 6 0.1 million euros was seized. Interior Minister Gerhard Karner: “The task force’s experienced police officers fight street crime effectively, successfully and sustainably.”
