Sold in bars – smuggling across the border: couple as cocaine dealers

Date:

Successful strike of the Carinthian narcotics investigators in the anti-drug battle: After extensive investigations, a couple was arrested who had allegedly smuggled cocaine across the border from Slovenia for months and sold it profitably in our bars. Imprisonment!

The researchers had been closely monitoring the Slovenian couple for several months – something they apparently had no idea about. Although they had already been caught with cocaine in their luggage during a check at the Loibltunnel border crossing at the beginning of this year, the duo did not think about stopping their lucrative business.

Until recently, the suspects continued to regularly shuttle through various border crossings, eventually reselling the drug they bought in Slovenia for a profit to their buyers in bars in Carinthia. While the man was mainly responsible for the smuggling trips, the woman took over the sales.

After carefully gathering sufficient information and evidence, the investigators now launched a full-scale attack: the investigators handcuffed the couple and, in addition to narcotics, seized numerous paraphernalia in their bunker apartment in Klagenfurt that indicated a vibrant drug trade.

Drugs organized in Laibach
At this time, detectives believe that the two suspects have smuggled at least 200 grams of cocaine from Slovenia (mainly from Ljubljana) across the border to Carinthia since the beginning of this year, earning approximately 20,000 euros. Further investigations are still ongoing. The couple is separated for the time being – at least spatially. Both are in their respective cells.
