A 31-year-old allegedly stabbed several residents of an asylum seekers’ residence on Lake Constance, killing one man. At least five people were injured, some seriously.
The resident is said to have knocked on the doors of the rooms in Kressbronn on Sunday evening. After opening, he stabbed those present.
A man died of his injuries and a seriously injured person was taken to hospital by rescue helicopter. Four other victims were taken to hospital by ambulance. It is not yet clear if more people were injured, police said.
Several police patrols arrived. The suspect was eventually arrested in front of the building without resistance, according to the police and public prosecutor. The motive and further background of the act were initially unclear. Forensic experts gathered evidence at the crime scene Monday morning.
