After the deadly shooting around a gay bar in the Norwegian capital Oslo, the suspected perpetrator has been jailed for four weeks. The court of the Norwegian capital announced this on Monday afternoon. The attack left two dead and more than ten injured.
The judge in charge banned letters and visits for the full four weeks, of which the suspect must spend two weeks in complete isolation.
The attacker fired shots around a popular gay bar on Saturday night. Two people were killed and 21 injured. The Norwegian secret service PST classifies the attack as an Islamic terrorist attack.
A 43-year-old Norwegian with Iranian roots was arrested minutes after the first shots were fired. The motive for the crime is still unclear, but police are investigating, among other things, the theory whether it could be a hate crime that explicitly targets homosexuals.
