Siemens Gamesa is proposing a temporary ERTE that will affect 423 employees

As confirmed by EITB Media, the measure would affect, among others, the staff of Asteasu and Zamudio. Initially it would not be used in the Mungia factory.

The address of Siemens Gamesa met yesterday unions one to lift temporary employment scheme file (ERTE) which would affect 423 employees. According to the proposal, the measure could be extended for the next year and a half, a period that would in any case be flexible and would have consequences for the Zamudio and Asteasu teams.

The ERTE will be applied in factories involved in the production of gearboxes. In this division, the company decided to completely stop onshore wind energy production in 2023 when it went through a sales crisis.

At yesterday’s meeting, management reached a… prior agreement with the union representatives now to be approved in the assemblies of employees.

Siemens Gamesa has almost 3,000 employees in Hego Euskal Herria at its factories in Zamudio, Mungia, Asteasu, Sarriguren and Arazuri.
