A 15-year-old assaulted police officers in Vienna-Alsergrund Monday evening with punches and kicks after she was caught breaking into a cigarette machine with a 16-year-old friend. Two officers had to be treated after the official act.
A 32-year-old witness observed the two young people at the machine in Hahngasse and warned the director, police spokesman Daniel Fürst said Monday. While her boyfriend kept calm, the 15-year-old snapped at the officers.
Stanley knife secured
She reached into her shoulder bag as officers approached her. A police officer told her not to and grabbed the boy’s arm. She then attacked the man in uniform with punches and kicks. Despite strong resistance, the girl was arrested. A search of the bag revealed a Stanley knife.
At the time of arrest, the 15-year-old was still aggressive and attacked another officer with her foot. She made several unquoted insults to the police. Her 16-year-old companion was also arrested – and without resistance.
