Serious traffic accident Sunday afternoon on the Inntalautobahn near Ampass! Due to a microsleep, a Bulgarian (54) rammed an information board with his car. The car flipped over and landed on its roof. The driver and his passenger (48) were injured.
At around 2.40pm, the two Bulgarians were driving their car eastbound on the A12 when the 54-year-old driver apparently fell asleep. “In the municipality of Ampass, the car went off the road, hit an information board head-on, rolled over and came to rest lying on the roof,” police said.
Lane closed for about an hour
The 54-year-old man and his passenger were seriously injured and had to be taken by ambulance to the state hospital in Hall. The car was badly damaged. “The first lane of the A12 was closed during the investigation into the accident and the towing away, but was released again at 3.40 pm,” the management said.
