Date:

Nine people were killed in an attack on a cafe in Mexico. The attackers fired at those present at the restaurant “Lexuz” in the city of Apaseo el Alto in the state of Guanajuato, the city authorities reported Thursday evening (local time).

Five men and four women were killed and two other women were injured. According to local media, six people were killed in the bar, two in a passing car and one on the street. One possible background, therefore, was a gang war between two crime syndicates.

Cars and businesses were set on fire Wednesday night and police stations attacked in other cities across the state, allegedly in response to the arrest of a gang leader.
