A diary entry has proved fatal for an American woman from the state of Minnesota: the 30-year-old, who worked for a food delivery service, admitted to stealing a car. Investigators identified her using a surveillance camera and discovered the incriminating diary at her home.
“Dear diary! Today I stole a car and will have to go to jail because of it.” This entry marked the downfall of American Vanessa G.. The woman from Minnesota worked as a delivery person for food delivery service DoorDash.
Suspicious cars sold to scrap dealers
While she was delivering culinary treats in the sparsely populated area of Brown County one evening, a 2004 Ford Freestar was reported stolen that same evening.
Investigators discovered that the van was sold two days later to a scrap metal dealer in a neighboring county. And the seller’s description matched the surveillance camera footage. When officers checked on the 30-year-old at home, they found the diary. Arrest!
