Revenge for Kazan? – Russia attacks Ukraine again with drones

Date:

Russia attacked Ukraine again on Sunday evening with drone strikes. Ukrainian air defense reported that swarms of drones flew in from different directions.

The targets of the combat drones were initially not visible due to the constantly changing flight directions. With this tactic, the Russian army is trying to overload the Ukrainian air defense system.

Attacks are intended to deplete the population
Russia is trying to deplete the Ukrainian population with ever-increasing drone and missile attacks. Many of the attacks target Ukraine’s energy infrastructure to halt electricity supplies, including water and district heating.

Kremlin boss Putin threatened retaliation
Russian President Vladimir Putin only this morning threatened retaliation after a Ukrainian drone attack on the Russian city of Kazan on the Volga. “Whoever tries to destroy something in our country will face the destruction in our country many times over and will still regret what he tried to do in our country,” he said in a televised video conference.

Ukrainian drone attack on Kazan
On Saturday morning, six Ukrainian drones hit residential buildings in Kazan and another hit an industrial building. According to official information, no injuries were reported in the attack.

Kazan is located more than 1000 kilometers from the border with Ukraine. Although Ukraine has not yet officially claimed responsibility for the attack, it is believed to be its response to a Russian missile attack on Kiev.
