While many people spent Christmas Eve under the Christmas tree, this day was probably the biggest celebration for some families in Carinthia. Because on December 24, 14 Christmas babies were born in the hospitals.
Most of the Christ children were born in LKH Villach this year: “Four spread throughout the day,” reports a midwife. Little Mila Kampfer was born on time on her first due date: “It’s a wonderful experience. “She is my first child, we are just getting to know each other,” laughs proud mother Eda Kampfer. She and her husband Stefan have been together since 11:03 p.m.
A total of six women gave birth in Klagenfurt and Lienz: Three Christ children were born in Klagenfurt, for example little Rupert Schnedl: “He was born on the 24th at 6:34 am,” says Mama Schnedl Poggersdorf in the “Krone” conversation. Three babies were also born at the Lienz district hospital.
22 hours of labor, but healthy first child
Only one child was born in Wolfsberg, but the little emir kept his parents busy for 22 hours: “The contractions started on December 23,” says father Hajriz Halili. Despite minor complications that ultimately led to a caesarean section, the little family is doing well: “It is indescribable to become a father for the first time; we have been together for eight years and married for four. A family was the next logical step for us,” says the proud father.
However, Mama Duygu-Doganci was not supposed to have to wait so long for her emir: “You just can’t choose when the child wants to come.”
“Everyone very happy”
Two deliveries took place in the hospital in Spittal an der Drau. Little Jakob Georg Wittmann was born as a healthy boy on Christmas Day at 11:51 am, although the birth date was not planned until early January: “We are all very happy, he is our first child,” said Mrs. Wittmann to “Kron”. And at the Hospital of the Brothers of Mercy in St. Veit, a parent will probably also be happy with a Christ child.
