A 31-year-old is said to have harassed swimmers with a bottle and a pocket knife shortly before 6 p.m. on the upper reaches of the Old Danube in Vienna-Floridsdorf on Monday.
He then cut himself in the upper arm. Witnesses immediately alerted the police. However, the man was also not calmed by the officials. During the arrest and also later in the hospital, he attacked the police officers several times. One officer was slightly injured.
Another case in Vienna-Alsergrund
The 31-year-old was not the only one who started a police action with his aggressive behavior on Monday. A 37-year-old is said to have hit a shop window several times without reason in the Lazarettgasse in Vienna-Alsergrund. He is also said to have threatened the alarmed police officers and even tried to spit on them several times. He had been arrested.
