Israel bombs Yemen again

Date:

The Israeli army has attacked civilian infrastructure such as Sanaa airport and several power plants. At least 4 people have died.

Israel has the west coast and interior areas of Yemen next Thursday, with targets such as Sana’a airport, in response to the rocket launches ballistic missiles and drones in Israeli territory by the Houthi rebels.

Israeli aviation has launched an “intelligence-based” attack on infrastructure allegedly used by the Houthis at Sanaa airport, Hezyaz and Ras Kanatib power plants and other positions in the ports of Hodeida, Salif and Ras Kanatib, on the western coast. This is evident from an Israeli military statement.

According to Israel, these targets were used by the Houthis smuggling of Iranian weapons in the region, as well as a gateway for senior officials of the Iranian regime.

“This is yet another example of the exploitation of the Houthis civil infrastructure for military purposes,” added the army, which has spoken out in similar terms when its attacks in Gaza or Lebanon took place in places where civilian casualties could occur.

The Director of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adhanmon Ghebreyesusexplained that he was about to board a flight in Sanaa on Thursday when Israel launched the attack, and has confirmed at least two deaths. Shortly afterwards, the Ministry of Health and the Environment reported that this was in any case the case four people who died and 21 injured as a result of Israeli attacks.

The military accused the Yemeni armed group of relying on Iranian financing and acting as an agent of the Islamic republic, attacking international ships in the Arabian Sea, the Red Sea and the Bab al Mandab Strait to destabilize the region .

With the attack, Israel claims to be responding to the Houthis, who have “repeatedly attacked the State of Israel and its citizens, including attacks with drones and surface-to-surface missiles.”

Yesterday afternoon, a Houthi drone struck an open space in Israeli territory without causing any casualties, while air defense systems intercepted a missile heading towards the center of the country at dawn.

In the evening the Prime Minister said Benjamin Netanyahuthe Yemeni group warned again: “The Houthis will also learn what Hamas, Hezbollah, the (Bashar) Al Assad regime and others have learned, and this will also take time. This lesson will be learned throughout the Middle East.”
