Was it youthful recklessness or something else that led two teenagers to set fire to an empty building in Vienna late on a Saturday afternoon? The researchers now have to work on this. One thing is certain: after their senseless action, the two boys came back to their senses and made an emergency call…
It was just starting to get dark when the emergency call went out to the professional fire brigade on Saturday: fire on the Innstrasse in Leopoldstadt. There, two young people – 14 and 15 years old – allegedly poured a fire accelerator through an open window of an empty building and then set it on fire.
Teenagers confessed
But as soon as the first flames appeared, the suspected arsonists quickly called the emergency services. The fire was quickly extinguished by quickly alerting the emergency services. The two teens also confessed to the crime, according to police spokeswoman Barbara Gass. There is an ad for both.
The Vienna State Police Office, Fire Investigation Area, has taken over the investigation.
