After a day of shopping in neighboring Czech Republic, two young Styrians (18 and 19 years old) returned with a suitcase full of prohibited pyrotechnic items. However, the two were stopped by the police at the border and now face a fine. In total they had 4.5 kilos of explosive material with them.
On Saturday around 4:50 p.m., a patrol in Deutsch-Hörschlag carried out a driver and vehicle check on a car with a Styrian license plate entering the country from the Czech Republic. In the car were a 19-year-old and an 18-year-old, both from the Leoben district.
Two forbidden brass knuckles
During the search, the police found and seized a large number of prohibited pyrotechnic articles of classes F2, F3 and F4 in the vehicle, as well as two prohibited weapons. The two banned brass knuckles could be attributed to a 17-year-old from the Leoben district, who was not in the car, but was already in Freistadt with friends.
The seized pyrotechnic objects had a total net explosive mass of approximately four and a half kilograms.
