Dramatic accident in Hirschegg, Western Styria: A 27-year-old Styrian falls down a slope with a tractor and breaks his femur. Three emergency workers quickly arrived on the scene.
According to the Red Cross, the 27-year-old was walking on his own property in Hirschegg on Sunday afternoon when the tractor suddenly overturned and fell about 20 meters down a steep slope. The driver was thrown from the vehicle and left in the pasture – lying on his stomach with his head down the slope. Because he had broken his femur, he could not move due to the pain.
Three Red Cross aid workers arrived on the scene within minutes. An emergency medical team then provided initial treatment with pain therapy, after which the 27-year-old was carefully taken over the slope to the ambulance. He was admitted to the accident hospital in Graz.
