It was “Ende Gelaender” – Alkolenker wanted to leave the police in Lower Austria

Date:

Two blown tires caused the car to crash into a railing in Lower Austria, caused by a driver fleeing from the police. The 24-year-old had been drinking alcohol and made the situation worse by fleeing. He refused a drug test at the hospital and ended up causing an accident.

On January 3, a wild chase took place in Zwettl. Around 10.30 am the police noticed a black Golf in Kremserstraat. They tried to stop the car with blue lights, which the driver – a 24-year-old from the Zwettl district – ignored. When the driver had to stop in Andrey-Freyskorn-Strasse due to traffic, law enforcement officers gave clear arm signals. Then the man changed his strategy of ignoring.

The getaway driver skidded
The driver suddenly reversed, turned around and fled towards Rudmanns. Police chased the fugitive, who made such a sharp turn at an intersection in Rudmanns that he skidded and left the street on the sidewalk. He probably hit the curb, causing two tires to burst.

Alcohol test positive, drug test rejected
When he tried to get back onto the road, the VW skidded again and collided with a railing, which then marked the final stop. The driver was uninjured and refused a hospital examination because he was suspected of drug addiction. However, an alcohol test was positive. His driver’s license was temporarily revoked and he is said to be free because of his numerous crimes.
