An argument between two men in Laa an der Thaya in the northern Waldviertel on December 4 ended bloodily for one of the two: during an argument with an acquaintance (without a fixed address), a 33-year-old from the Mistelbach district received several stab wounds in the back.
The two had an argument in the early morning hours in the victim’s apartment, after which the 27-year-old Afghan attacked the Weinviertler several times with a broken glass bottle. The 33-year-old was seriously injured in the attack and had to be flown to hospital by emergency helicopter, but his life is out of danger.
Perpetrator in custody in Korneuburg
The perpetrator fled after the brutal attack, but was apprehended during an immediate search by police near the crime scene. The background and motive are currently unclear. The 27-year-old is in custody and has partially admitted charges of attempted murder.
