In the past 24 hours (from Wednesday: 9.30 am), 12,509 new corona infections have been reported in Austria. A week ago on Wednesday, there were 10,898 new cases. Eleven other people infected with the virus died.
This again broke the five digit mark. The trend of new infections continues to rise, the summer wave is in full swing.
While the number of patients in the normal wards continued to rise, 14 patients were added in the past 24 hours, the number of intensive care patients remained unchanged.
The new infections in the federal states:
- Vienna: 4071
- Lower Austria: 2709
- Upper Austria: 1673
- Styria: 1446
- Tyrol: 821
- Vorarlberg: 565
- Salzburg: 543
- Burgenland: 411
- Carinthia: 270
