The Israeli army says it has again attacked military targets of the Hezbollah militia in neighboring Lebanon. The targets are said to have been selected based on intelligence information.
The ‘recent’ attacks on several ‘terrorist targets’ included a rocket launcher, a military facility and Hezbollah arms smuggling routes along the Syrian-Lebanese border, the armed forces announced last night via X (formerly Twitter; see message below) with .
The army said it would continue to eliminate all threats to the State of Israel and prevent Hezbollah’s attempts to rebuild its forces – in line with the ceasefire in force since November 27.
The ceasefire is about to expire
The ceasefire agreed with the Lebanese Islamic militia, which was initially supposed to last two months, will soon expire. Despite isolated violations, the policy has largely held up so far.
The Israeli military said that before the new attack on targets in Lebanon, the committee tasked with monitoring ceasefire compliance had been informed of the identified dangers. However, there was no response to the threat situation afterwards. The Israeli information could not initially be independently confirmed.
