“It’s terrible” – Brad Pitt reacts with shock to Fake Pitt scam

Date:

“It is terrible that fraudsters are taking advantage of the close relationship between celebrities and their fans in this way!” Brad Pitt expressed his outrage through a spokesperson that a French woman has been defrauded of around 830,000 euros. The woman named Anne thought she could use her fortune to pay for a crucial operation for the star.

According to French TV channel TF1, the fraudsters contacted the woman via Instagram in 2023, posing as Pitt’s mother: “My son needs someone like you in his life!” My Brad” in the hospital and revealed that he was suffering from a life-threatening kidney disease and definitely needed an expensive procedure.

Fraudsters very convincing
Anne initially suspected that she was being deceived. But the scammers turned out to be too convincing: “I hardly know anything about social media and didn’t understand what was possible.” When ‘Brad’ contacted her directly, the 53-year-old was smitten. Not only did she transfer $850,000 to cover her famous lover’s alleged medical expenses, she even divorced her husband: “I was in love with him because he knew how to talk to a woman.”

Pitt does not use social media
Anne’s fantasy bubble of a chat romance with Pitt only burst when he made his romance with Spain’s Ines de Ramon public. The French woman subsequently filed a complaint against the fraudster(s) and has since suffered from severe depression. She told TF1: “I wonder why I was chosen to harm me. I’ve never hurt anyone. These people deserve to go to hell.”

She seems to share this attitude with the real Brad. In his statement on the TV show ‘Entertainment Tonight’, he recalled: ‘It is an important warning to all fans to never respond to such online requests – especially if they come from actors who are not active on social media. Pitt does not use Instagram, Facebook, X, TikTok or any other internet platform.

Spanish fraud ring
In September it emerged that two other women had also sent more than 362,000 euros to the alleged Hollywood star. Behind the fake account was a five-member Spanish fraud ring, which was busted by the police. The fake Pitt had contacted his victims through a Brad Pitt fan site and convinced the two women to invest in his alleged projects.
