“The area looks like this” – Jamie Lee Curtis compares fires to Gaza

Date:

American actress Jamie Lee Curtis has compared the fires in Los Angeles to the war in Gaza. “The entire Pacific Palisades area unfortunately looks like Gaza or one of these war-torn countries where terrible things have happened,” she said at a news conference.

It was about her new movie ‘The Last Showgirl’. The comment was an aside. Her own house is still there, but she lives in another canyon, the American actress said (see video above). A gap is a specific type of gap.

The actress repeatedly posts about the fires in California on her Instagram account. The devastation is difficult to understand, but the tireless work of firefighters is inspiring, Curtis wrote Tuesday. She would do anything herself to help those who couldn’t. She and her husband donated $1 million from their family foundation to the victims of the Los Angeles fire.

Excitement about Gaza, so to speak
The 66-year-old caused a stir with her comparison to Gaza. The fact that the Pacific Palisades area now resembles Gaza or other war-torn countries has drawn criticism. The actress commented on the Los Angeles fires during a question and answer session following a press conference for her new film.

X users commented that this comparison was “disgusting” and inappropriate, because the war in Gaza was not a natural disaster. It also points out that Curtis himself has “advocated Israel’s genocide in Gaza” in the past.

The Israeli daily ‘Jerusalem Post’ reported that after the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023, Curtis made a post in support of Israel – but with a photo of Palestinian children in the Gaza Strip. When she realized her mistake, she deleted the message.

As reported, firefighters reported progress in battling the fires in California on Thursday. At least 25 people have been killed and others are still missing. According to initial estimates, more than 12,000 buildings have been destroyed or damaged in the region.
