Spectacular accident Thursday morning in the Tyrolean Oberland: A 37-year-old local woman tried to overtake a public bus with her car in Pians (Landeck district) and collided with two oncoming cars. The accident happened shortly before 8 a.m. The 37-year-old was driving her car on Paznauntalstrasse (B188) towards the lake when she tried to overtake a bus in front of her near Pians. “She collided with the oncoming car of a 34-year-old Austrian man and the car behind it of a 24-year-old Austrian woman,” police said.
Injured driver taken to hospital
The 37-year-old was injured by the force of the collision. After receiving initial care at the scene of the accident, she was taken by ambulance to the hospital in Zams. The other two involved escaped in horror; they were unharmed.
National highway closed for 45 minutes
Police said there was significant damage to all vehicles. Paznauntalstrasse was completely closed for about 45 minutes. In addition to the police and rescue services, the Pians volunteer fire brigade was also present.
