Large-scale deployment of the fire brigade, rescue and disaster relief in the north of Vienna. According to information from the “Krone” there was a fire in the student house “Haus Dr.” Schärf ”in the 20th arrondissement.
The emergency services were around 5.30 pm with numerous vehicles on site and the area around the house (Lorenz-Müller-Gasse) was deposited according to readers’ reports. There are no injuries, but the All-Clear has now been given.
Nevertheless, the large -scale operation caused a lot of commotion in the area. In the event of a fire in dormitories, the fire brigade always activates alarm level 2 – that is, with a suitable number of fire trucks.
The alarm level has since been reduced, the affected rooms are still “smoked” and the operation is then terminated.
Twenty people left the building or were ‘supported’ – because they did not want to leave, according to the emergency services. The fire was extinguished using a fire extinguishing line and with respiratory protection. The cause of the fire is unclear.
