After a 50-year-old skier had a fatal accident in the Lachtal on Wednesday morning, a 66-year-old from Graz died on the same slope on Friday morning in an accident.
According to the police, the skier was around 10.15 with his wife and a friend on his way to the valley on the red slope number 6. His companions had driven forward. After the 66-year-old no longer showed up and after several phone calls and searches could no longer be located, his wife and the friend of the missing man called the PisteredDing team for help.
After a fall of the slope
A large search was immediately started. The man was eventually found motionless in the open space next to the slope. Attempts for resuscitation failed.
The man from Graz probably lost control of his skis and fell about 25 meters past the edge of the slopes in open terrain with little snow. According to the police, bad intent is excluded.
