In complete darkness, a skier was in the Dachstein West (Upper-Austria) area in the middle of the slopes on Saturday evening. After he stopped at a hut, the 23-year-old was too drunk to continue driving. The mountain service and a cable car employee helped.
That could have ended very badly, but luckily skiers who later found the 23-year-old lying on the slopes. The young man from the Hallein district in Salzburg had previously stopped at a hut in the Dachstein West ski area. On Saturday around 5 pm the Salzburger drove from the hut past a prepared slope towards Gosau.
But about halfway through the descent, the 23-year-old fell-according to the police ‘due to his considerable alcohol consumption’.
Different helpers when removing
About an hour later, upcoming ski paste found him – it was completely dark and the valley run was now actually closed.
The 23-year-old was unharmed, but apparently too drunk to continue driving independently. That is why the first aid providers warned the mountain range team. Together with a cable car employee, the man from Salzburg was taken to a nearby forest road. From there, an Alpine police officer brought him further into the valley, where the young man was picked up by family members.
