A year later – Austro Tourist in Space: “It was worth every penny”

Date:

“Austraut” Franz Haider (62) from Lower Austria is still overwhelmed by the impressions a year after his flight into space. The ticket to Virgin Galactic would have fully paid off…

Space tourist Franz Haider (62) is very modest and completely based in conversation with the “Krone”. A year after his greatest adventure – he flew around a small fortune with Virgin Galactic in orbit – he still looks back on this “milestone”: “The view of the planet was indescribable. The atmosphere, like a pulsating and shining belt, really stole my breath. You will never forget these photos,” says Haider.

Small assets opened many doors
The previously very successful entrepreneur does not like to talk about the costs, only this much needs to be said: “The ticket was worth every cent. The exclusive invitations alone opened many doors for me. I mean, you meet personalities like Buzz Aldrin (note: second person on the moon) & co. not every day. His mischievous and knowing smile speaks volumes.

The father of a four-year-old son still has a lot to do for the future. Antarctica, for example, is a declared target of the “Waldviertel Space Driver”. However, he enjoys time with his loved ones at home or his vacation home in Florida (USA).
