While patients were defenseless and stunned in his treatment room, a doctor in Munich would have sexually abused women. Medical staff got the business rolling – the gastroenterologist was now sentenced to prison because of the actions.
The court set up in prison for six and a half years against the 52-year-old for rape and sexual abuse in 17 cases. The court saw it as proven that the defendant passed on to women in a community practice in Munich while standing under narrage for a mirroring of intestine.
“We have come to the conclusion that the charges have actually been proven without reasonable doubts,” said the president of the president. The public prosecutor had asked in prison for eight years.
Employees had charged their boss
The doctor’s employees had repeatedly observed the actions and eventually reported their boss. The Chamber is convinced of the credibility of these witnesses, the judge said.
According to the indictment, the doctor introduced his finger in the vagina of the respective patient without a medical reason for it and without the women involved notice or defending themselves against it. The actions extend in four years from 2017 to 2021.
The chairman said it has “not the least indication” not to give the statements of the testimonies. He also saw no indications that the witnesses could have matched, had influenced or raised each other. “There was nothing of a zeal for stress.” The witnesses were “not vulnerable in credibility”. You wanted nothing bad for your boss. “They just wanted him to stop, finally stopped.”
“I have the violence about you, you are there”
The alleged victims were “young, slender women”, a 36-year-old said who was one of these four witnesses. Often these women were stunned with propofol because the doctor classified them as difficult cases. “The patients were very often injected that they also sleep very deeply and firmly,” she said.
She did not know what the motivation of the suspect could have been. There were always very short moments. Maybe the doctor wanted to practice his power, she speculates: “I have the violence above you, you’re there.”
The defense of the 52-year-old had asked for acquittal. The accused had “completely” refused the allegations at the start of the trial through his lawyer and brought his practical colleague and the employees into play. “He always followed all the medical principles,” said his lawyer. The court saw it completely different.
