Tips for civil protection – this is how you respond to the fire of a battery

Because of this incident, the Salzburg Civil Protection Association provides information about possible dangers: “Lithium ion batteries can get on fire during overloading or a short circuit. Pollution, lack of maintenance, a technical error or an application error can be responsible for this, “says shipping. The problematic for the firefighters: battery volumes are “hard to extinguish” and “toxic gases” also develop. There is also a risk of explosion. That is why the requirements for charging, storing or removing the various battery and battery types are large.
