In fact, radical climate activists were suspected of damaging hundreds of cars in Germany. But now there was a surprising turn in the case – with an explosive track to the Russian “Dwing -Ways”.
According to research by the German “mirror”, it is not said that a series of material damage to cars in various German federal states has been checked for the report of radical climate activists, but was controlled by Russian customers. Unknowns had made vehicles with assembly foam unusable and placed stickers with the slogan “Greener!” And an image of Minister of Economy Robert Habeck.
The incidents must apparently remain indignation and cause a division of society in the Bundestag election campaign.
The police stop suspects – but let them go
The Sabotage series flew open when a police patrol in December 2024 stopped a suspicious van in Schönefeld near Berlin. The prisoners – three young men with Serbian, Bosnian and German identification – initially did not notice any further.
It was only the next morning that 43 cars in the area were paralyzed at night. In total, more than 270 vehicles were damaged in Germany, especially in Berlin, Brandenburg, Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg.
Thousands of euros for the mood against Greens?
According to the security authorities, the trail of the saboteurs leads to Russia. The alleged perpetrators would have been recruited by chat service to sabotage German cars with assembly foam and to place false traces of militant climate activists. In exchange, they would have received several thousand euros. The campaign was apparently designed to increase public opinion against the Greens and their candidate for Chancellor Habeck.
If the allegations are confirmed, this would support the federal office for protecting the constitution that Russia specifically intervenes in the Bundestag election campaign. Already in the past it was warned that foreign powers could try to influence the political mood in Germany through disinformation and targeted actions.
“Department agent” as a Neue Strategy des Kremlin?
Western intelligence services see that Moscow increasingly relates to amateurs and small criminals to perform hidden actions. These so ground “agents at low level” must be used for payment for sabotage files or disinformation campaigns. A similar case was recently known in Paris, where a Moldovian couple of David stars had sprayed on house walls to generate anti -semitic tensions.
In Germany, the researchers have now had one of the alleged buildings of saboters. According to “Spiegel” he stated that he was recruited by a Russian contact person via the “Viber” Messenger Service. As proof, the perpetrators must send photos of the manipulated vehicles that they were promised 100 euros per car. It is said that the payment has been made in cash.
Research Run – Suspect disappeared
After the police check in Schönefeld, the investigation at Baden-Württemberg was expanded. In Ulm and the surroundings, officials searched different apartments and made mobile phones, laptops and other cartridges -assembly foam. The public prosecutor of ULM confirmed that investigations against four accused are underway. In the ULM area alone, it is said that 123 cars are influenced, the total damage is around 6000 euros.
So far, however, there have been no arrests – according to “Spiegel”, two of the suspects would have left Germany. The German security authorities face the question of whether and how targeted Russian influence in this form can be demonstrated.
