Within barely an hour it cooled down by about ten degrees in the federal capital, just before 20 the thermometer was only 18 degrees, in the late afternoon it was still around 29 degrees. The wind speed also increased in the early evening. This was noticeable outside, where caution was required – for example against falling branches or loose parts.

The thunderstorms, which raged over southwestern Lower Austria on their way to Vienna and rained hailstones up to four centimeters in size, will probably just miss the capital. Also in Upper Austria the hailstones grew to a considerable size.
In terms of temperatures, Saturday in Vienna will also start more moderately than the previous one – a refreshing 16 degrees is forecast in the morning. During the day, however, the thermometer will rise again. But it shouldn’t be as hot as on Friday.
