Good sleep is essential for us – but only too often after a long working day we don’t find the relaxation that our body would need so urgently. Krone+ about the reasons that put us asleep at night – and what helps.
“Austria is sleeping frightensingly badly,” was the sobering conclusion of the Salzburg -Sleeping Researcher Manuel Schabus on the occasion of the World of the World last March. In all ages, 25 to 30 percent of people in this country suffer from sleep disorders, in which women are hit more often.
This is not without consequences: poor sleep increases the risk of health problems and mental disorders. A weakened immune system leads to more infections, including the irritability of the affected, “and the risk of anxiety diseases and depression increases,” Schabus said. “We even know that a permanent lack of sleeping time can shorten their lives for up to five years.”
