Dramatic scenes took place on Thursday evening in Kirchdorf in the Tyroolean Unterland: after a 37-year-old fell asleep in her apartment, a candle led a fire. The father, who lives in the same house, became aware of the situation and saved his daughter outdoors.
The fire brigade was warned shortly before 9 p.m. When the emergency services arrived, parts of the top floor of the house were already on fire. The wounded resident, who had already found outside at the time, stated: “That the fire was probably activated by a candle,” the police reported.
She had previously lit the candle in the living room – then she fell asleep. “When the woman woke up again, it was already burned and everything was smoked. She had no way to go out the fire, “the researchers continue to describe.
Father hurried daughter to help
It was the 69-year-old father who lives on the ground floor who had become aware of the dramatic situation. He came to his daughter and took her outside. Then he put the emergency call.
With flue gas poisoning in the hospital
The fire was removed by the Kirchdorf Fire Brigade after a short time. There was considerable damage to the building. The 37-year-old woman sustained injuries and flue gas poisoning. After the first aid with the rescue, she was taken to St. Johann Hospital.
