Hours of lock – Chaos on A4: Brandbrigade is foam in the foam of the hip

The fire of a semitrailer on the Ostutobahn near Fischamend caused hours to extinguish for hours. According to the police, the clean -up work lasted until the early hours of the morning. The traffic was considerably affected, the highway was closed for hours.

Shortly after 8 p.m. on Friday evening, the trailer of a saddle train caught fire for an unknown cause. After a driver had made the 48-year-old Romanian aware of the smoke development of his vehicle, the driver immediately stopped to control the flames.

Unfortunately, the driver did not succeed. The steering wheel that subsequently linked the tractate vehicle from the trailer, which was almost in full fire, when civil servants of the Schwechat Motorway Police arrived.

The Fischamend Volunteer Fire Brigade took over the demanding extinguishing work. Two foam pipes were used under the airway protection, while the load of the trailer was removed by a forklift truck and manually to extend the fire completely. Various pendulum travel to the next water supply point were carried out.

Due to the extensive use, the Ostutobahn (A4) remained closed in the direction of Hungary for the entire duration of the work. According to the police, the extinguishing work lasted a few hours because the trailer was loaded with different wooden materials. The company Brigade of Vienna Airport was also consulted for support.
