“Hetzeric content” – Palestinian bookseller arrested

Date:

Two Palestinian booksellers were arrested on Sunday in the Arabic part of Jerusalem. The two men are suspected of selling “books with fast content and support of terror”.

The owner of the educational bookstore Jerusalem Bookstore suspects that someone has complained about various offered works. Suddenly, police officers stormed into the store on Sunday and had translated the titles of the books into Arabic and English with the help of Google and he seized around 100 books. She then arrested his son Ahmed and his brother Mahmud, the owner complained to the media.

Painting book for children with anti -Israeli slogan
Most of the books – except about ten titles – have now been returned by the police. According to the police, various books were found with “nationalist Palestinian subjects”. Among them is a coloring book for children entitled “From the Jordan to the Sea”. The slogan, which is also often used in demonstrations, refers to the area between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea.

Islamist Hamas means that the state of Israel should disappear. Others see it as a solidarity expression for those who fight for an end to the Israeli occupation in Palestinian territories.
