An early evening bike ride ended painfully for a 70-year-old in Dornbirn (Vorarlberg). The man was hit by the trailer of a pickup truck on a forest road and pushed to the ground. While the man lay there with injuries, the driver continued his journey.
Around 5:30 p.m., a 70-year-old cyclist was riding uphill on a forest road towards the Dornbirn Kobelalpe. About two kilometers before the Kobelalpe he was overtaken by a silver pick-up. During the overtaking process, the pickup truck’s trailer hit the handlebars of the bicycle, causing the man to fall and injure his head and face.
The incident may not even be noticed
The driver continued his journey without stopping. Police are now asking any witnesses and especially the driver of the silver pick-up, who may not have even noticed the incident, to contact Dornbirn police station.
