Musk plans to donate $45 million to Trump every month until the election

Date:

Tech billionaire Elon Musk has now officially chosen sides. The richest person in the world wants to “fully” support Donald Trump to get the 78-year-old into the White House. To do this, 45 million dollars per month would have to flow.

Musk is reportedly planning to provide massive financial support to Trump’s election campaign. Musk plans to donate about $45 million a month to a pro-Trump super PAC, the Wall Street Journal reported Monday, citing people familiar with the matter.

The group wants to focus on convincing swing voters and securing so-called “swing states” for Trump.

Accordingly, Musk has already made an unspecified donation to the “America PAC.” Bloomberg also reported last week on a donation from Musk to the Trump support group.

Millions for Trump-linked groups
Prominent supporters of the “America PAC” include Lonsdale Enterprises with a $1 million donation and investors and the “crypto twins” Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss with $250,000 each.

However, the South African resident does not appear on a donation list the group filed on Monday, which shows an income of more than $8 million.

Musk responded to the assassination attempt
So-called super PACS can collect any amount of money, but they can’t pass it on directly to the candidate. Instead, the money is often used to run their own campaigns. These are loopholes that allow big donors to exert influence. If Musk donated directly to Trump, U.S. law would only allow him to give $3,300.

Shortly after the assassination of Donald Trump, Musk announced that he was supporting the Republican and would back him “fully.” His planned financial commitment could significantly influence the dynamics of the election campaign.
