On the Hochkönig Strae B-164 in Maria Alm (Salzburg) near the exit to Hintermoos, a serious traffic accident occurred between a car and a motorcycle around 2.40 pm on Sunday.
A 34-year-old German motorist collided head-on with a 58-year-old German motorcyclist during a turning maneuver. The motorcyclist, the car driver and their two-year-old daughter were taken by rescue helicopter to nearby hospitals, some with serious injuries.
Alcohol test on the driver was negative
An alcohol test performed on the motorist gave a result of 0.00 per thousand. An alcohol test with the motorcyclist could not be performed due to the serious injuries.
The B164 was closed during the cleanup activities. The clean-up work was carried out by the volunteer fire brigades Maria Alm and Hintertal, who were on site with a total of 29 men and six vehicles. Significant damage was done to the car and engine.
